The trick is to draw on your own experience, incorporate as many levels of yourself as possible and be receptive to spontaneous impressions.
My paintings often use architecture as a springboard- that allows me to indulge my penchant for austerity and formality. The spaces I create form a suggestive psychological structure that beholders can infuse with their own presence.
I am very interested in the phenomenon of time, its impact on objects, nature and people, transience, life as an ever changing stream in which the only constant is the moment.
My paintings are reports of the fleeting instants during which I stand in the studio and meticulouslly apply one layer on top of the other, each of them bearing witness to another time and another moment.
